Adult Silks Classes

Gain body awareness, strength and confidence while learning skill progressions, wraps and dance elements on the silks. Made of a nylon based fabric, silks are an incredibly strong and versatile apparatus.

What to expect: tight wraps (silks can squeeze you a bit), inverting upside down and spinning

Progression advice: after Silks 1a, students will take a skills check to pass into Silks 1b. Levels are: Silks 1a-c, Silks 2a-c, Silks 3a-c, Silks 4

Silks Flow Intermediate: for students in Silks 2a+, sequence together skills using creative and new transitions, and build endurance with routines

Silks Flow Advanced: for students in Silks 3a+

Adult Rope Classes (Pre-Requisites)

Similar theory to silks, rope classes are a bit more dynamic and strength based with a single pole of rope.

Pre-requisites: Rope is an extremely challenging apparatus, and has strength requirements in order to help students have the best learning experience. Students must complete:

-bent arm invert and slow lower, 1 minute plank in hollow body, 10 pushups with elbows at a 45 degree angle or narrower in hollow body plank, 1 pull-up to bent arm hold, hold bent arms for 10 seconds.

What to expect: rope can be a bit more painful than silks. Also, inverts in the air are incredibly important and used often.

Progression advice: after Rope 1a, students will take a skills check to pass into Rope 1b. Levels are: Rope 1a-b, Rope 2a-c, Rope 3a-c, Rope 4

Adult Trapeze Classes

Experience true momentum as you explore the dynamic art of static trapeze. Weave your way around the bar and through the ropes as you learn poses, transitions and dynamic skills.

What to expect: spicy hands the first few classes! Your callouses will build up quickly!

Progression advice: after Trapeze 1a, students will take a skills check to pass into Trapeze 1b. Levels are: Trapeze 1a-c, Trapeze 2a-c, Trapeze 3a-d, Trapeze 4a-d

Trapeze Flow Basic: for students in Trapeze 1c, sequence together skills using creative and new transitions, and build endurance with routines

Trapeze Flow Intermediate: for students Level 2a+

Trapeze Flow Advanced: for students Level 3a+

Adult Pole Classes (PRerequisites)

Focused on fitness, dance and strength, pole explores working yourself around the apparatus, rather than the apparatus wrapping around you. Using your skin as a contact point, pole focuses on body awareness, sequencing, spins and inversions (in 1b+).

Pre-requisites: Pole is an extremely challenging apparatus, and has strength requirements in order to help students have the best experience learning pole. Students must complete:
-1 pullup, 10 sit ups, 3 pushups, 30 second plank, bent arm hold for 8 seconds (please submit a video of you completing these skills to info@momentumaerial.org for approval)

What to expect: spinning, strength challenges lifting yourself onto the pole, and pain from skin grip on the pole. The more you power through the pain of your skin contact, the more desensitized your skin becomes! We’ve found the pain from sticking to the pole isn’t for everyone, if you’re unsure, please try out a sampler class or private lesson before signing up for Pole 1a.

Progression advice: after Pole 1a, students will take a skills check to pass into Pole 1b. Levels are: Pole 1a-c, Pole 2a-c, Pole 3a-c

Pole Flow Basic: for students who have passed Pole 1b, sequence together skills using creative and new transitions, and build endurance with routines. Incorporates floor work.

Pole Flow Intermediate: for students Pole 2a+

Pole Flow Advanced: for students Pole 3a+

Pole & Heels Choreo (all levels): Expand your floor and base work skills utilizing sexy choreography, beginner level spins, and basic sits. Dance along to music as you learn to transition around the pole and its base using the pole and floor for support. This class is perfect for new students who want a less athletic pole style, and experienced students who are looking to tap into their sensual side.

This is a beginner-friendly heels choreography class & is also suitable for pole & other aerial students with prior training at any level (intermediate & advanced students also welcome). Students will primarily learn floor work, incorporating the pole, to put together flow-based combos. For adult students - must be 20+. There are no pre-requisites for this class! Knee pads highly recommended!

Adult Lyra Classes

Also known as the aerial hoop, lyra focuses on the formation of shapes and lines, using the solid, spinning shape of the hoop. Learn grace, poses and the dynamics of spinning as you work on sequencing and strength.

What to expect: spinning and soreness on the backs of your knees for the first few classes. You’ll desensitize quickly!

Progression advice: after Lyra 1a, students will take a skills check to pass into Lyra 1b. Levels are: Lyra 1a-c, Lyra 2a-c, Lyra 3a-d, Lyra 4

Lyra Flow Basic: for students in Lyra 1c or 2a, sequence together skills using creative and new transitions, and build endurance with routines

Lyra Flow Intermediate: for students Level 2b+

Lyra Flow Advanced: for students Level 3a+

Partner Acro

Partner Acrobatics combines partner balances, dance lifts, inversions, and creative transitions. Cultivate trust, connection, and a sense of playfulness in your practice as we learn how to base, fly, and spot. Partner acro sets a solid foundation for multi-person floor work, introduces students to hand balancing, transitions from the floor into the air, and allows us to connect with our community through movement.

What to expect: Acro is a collaborative community activity. We encourage all students to work with each other in multiple roles (base, fly, spot). Signing up with a partner is not required, everyone works with different people (including a regular partner if desired) during class.

Progression advice: after Partner Acro 1a, students will take a skills check to pass into Partner Acro 1b. Levels are: Partner Acro 1a-c, Partner Acro 2a-c

Our Spring 2025 semester is 15 weeks long (January 12 - May 3. We teach all of our leveled classes (i.e. silks 1a, trapeze 2b, etc.) based on our progressive curriculum, therefore, we close all leveled classes to new students after week 3 of the semester . Safety and basic technique will be taught in the first few classes; after that, classes become too advanced to accommodate new students. We hope you join us for all 15 weeks! All conditioning, flexibility and open gym classes are open to drop ins all semester long.

Drop In Policy: Please contact us if you wish to purchase a drop in for a leveled class (ex: Silks 1a, Trapeze 1a, etc). Purchasing a drop in does not guarantee a spot for you in class. We are an aerial school, and run a semester of 12-15 week classes. After week 2, we do not allow drop ins or new students without a private lesson. If you would like to reserve your spot in a class, please purchase your semester tuition. All aerial fitness, aerial yoga and flexibility classes are drop-in friendly!

  1. Waitlist Policy: If a class is full, you may join the waitlist in case a student drops out of the class. Please do not come to class if you are on the waitlist, we will contact you if a spot opens up.
